This is a re-creation in 3-dimensions of the landing site on the moon as
conceived by Wernher von Braun and rendered for the Collier's magazine space symposium by
Chesley Bonestell. The image above is a screen shot of the VRML scene.

Some comments on the VRML modelling: the models are more detailed than one
would like for ease of movement within the VRML scene; however, they are also less
detailed than a dedicated space-art fan would like. Many little details have been left
out; the scene does not contain two additonal lunar tractors with cargo modules,
astronauts, and other construction gear included in Bonestell's original. Although VRML
does not support shadow-casting, I've placed shadow-silhouettes in the appropriate places
on the lunar surface to mimic the dramatic shadows in the original.
